An alumnus of the class of 1990 writes, "The Daedalus Human Powered Aircraft was constructed by MIT students and faculty and flown to three world's records for human-powered flight in 1988. Those records still stand today. "Daedalus set a new standard for lightweight, efficient aircraft designs and highlighted the innovation and hands-on skills of both MIT students and faculty."
