North Bennington Museum & Historical Society

Example of a place where MWOW could be used in a new setting.

One of our goals for MWOW is to build something that other institutions can use. It turns out that N. Bennington, VT has a group of people who want to preserve the history of their town in the form of audio and video stories. They don't really want to get into building a building to house a museum, their town really is the museum.

It's interesting to think about how MWOW would work there. There are differences between N. Bennington's and MIT's environments that provide an interesting challenge. Mostly outdoors vs. mostly indoors. A small number of widely spaced WiFi access points vs. a large number of closely spaced access points.

Sometime this summer we would like to invite any museums or other groups to a birds-of-a-feather type meeting at MIT to discuss how we could all work together. If you're interested, send email to afdoyle@mit.edu.
