Meeting Info:

We have mapped out a plan for three meetings and a late January workshop that will enable us to define this project, key goals, and a plan of work. These will be working meetings with specific agendas and outcomes.

The first meeting will be Thursday, December 1, from 5:30-7:00 pm at the MIT Museum (food provided).

For this meeting we would like to ask all the participants to do some homework (and be prepared to discuss at the meeting).

1. 10 interesting things about MIT that you would tell a newcomer to campus

(This is intended as a warm-up for more serious discussions. Those of you who participated in last April's workshop have already explored this issue and we will share the results of that session.)

1. Assume you are holding a device in your hand: how do you imagine that device will connect with the data repository to answer the following questions: Where am I? Where should I go? What am I looking at? How do I find...?
2. Again, assume you are holding a device in your hand, what kinds of media do you want to be able to view? Do you want raw facts or a polished tour guide? (or both!) What is a meaningful unit of time (second, minute, hour, day, week, year, decade?)

The subsequent meetings will be scheduled for the third week of December and the second week of January. One of these meetings will be dedicated exclusively to technology development, the other to content development. In order to maximize participation, please bring your calenders!

If you cannot come to a session, please feel free to send a representative of your group.

In late Janauary or early February, we are working with Prof. Joe Ferreira to develop a workshop that brings together various MIT projects and organizations we expect to be working with in the coming months and years.
