An alumnus of the class of 1973 writes, "MIT Enterprise Forum has provided advice and assistance to entrepeneurs around the world since 1978. From humble beginnings with a small group of alums, MIT Enterprise Forum has grown to an international volunteer run organization with chapters in the US, Canada, UK, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Taiwan and chapters in formation in China and Columbia.

"MIT Enterprise Forum is a direct implementation of the MIT motto- mind and hands - helping to create new companies and economic activity around the world. Today 70% of the 30,000 annual participants in MIT Enterprise Forum events and programs in local communities around the world are NOT MIT alums, showing the wide spread impact the MIT's leadership has in catalyzing entrepreneurship not only in Cambridge but world wide."

  • The impact of the MIT Enterprise Forum is felt both on campus and at far away places around the Globe. The MIT Enteprise Forum is an extension of the entrepreneurial spirit that is found among the students and faculty, and enhances the connection between entrepreneurship and MIT out in the community at large. The volunteers who actively plan the programs and manage the chapters and the global network are a whos-who of innovation and invention. The ideas that develop at a typical MIT Enterprise Forum event are blogged, and tweeted and shared extensively, and companies and commericialization blossoms.

  • Kudos to the volunteers who invest time and talent in the Enterprise Forum, making it the vibrant community that it is and contributing to its ever-growing success and global importance!

  • The MIT Enterprise Forum has continued to grow and impact the entrepreneurial community globally for decades. Many entrepreneurs like me fondly remember going to the case-study programs and conferences hosted by the Forum during the 90’s, when we were starting our first companies.
The Forum has now grown to over 25 Chapters around the globe and impacts 10’s of thousands of Alumni and non-Alumni each year.
MIT has always been an out-of-the-box organization. Unlike many inward-looking Universities, MIT has always looked globally and worked hard to impact the world at large, not just its amazing Alumni.
MIT is about openness and learning and The MIT Enterprise Forum embodies that culture, which is the foundation of entrepreneurship.

  • In New England, the Enterprise Forum is really the center of the entrepreneurial universe. There’s no better way to learn how to start or grow a company, connect to the resources necessary to do it, and stay hyper-tuned to technology, market or capital trends. In addition to its own seminars, courses and presentations, it’s an unofficial network of networks amongst all the other entrepreneurial organizations in the region and beyond. An awfully good combo of productive and fun.

  • I have been a member of many technical, business and professional organizations and the forum has been, by far, the one that had the largest impact on my career.

Belonging to the forum is an opportunity to exchange and discuss ideas with the smartest and most creative people.

Thanks to all the volunteers who run the forum and thanks to Trish, from the Cambridge chapter.
